NCB PRSS Supervisor Certification Requirements

Track A: Peers with lived experience

NCB Approved Peer Supervisor Training

Have been a certified PRSS for at least two years
(At first renewal)

Maximum number of peers to supervise – 8

At a minimum, certified peer supervisors:

ATTESTATION

  • Must meet with each supervisee biweekly
  • Meet with the entire group of supervisees monthly
  • Observations of each supervisee quarterly
  • Supervision template, mentorship agreement, best practice offered as tool

Track B: Non-peers

NCB Approved Peer Supervisor Training

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and two years working in the field of behavioral health, OR a master’s degree and one year working in the field of behavioral health.
 

Maximum number of peers to supervise – 8

At a minimum, certified peer supervisors:

  • Must meet with each supervisee biweekly
  • Meet with the entire group of supervisees monthly
  • Observations of each supervisee quarterly
  • Supervision template, mentorship agreement, best practice offered as tool

Both Track A and B

  • May serve as a “satellite” peer supervisor
  • Code of Ethics for PRSS supervisors
  • Residency Requirement (Must live or work in Nevada at least 51% of the time)
