What is a Certified Birth Doula?
A Doula is a non-medical trained professional who provides evidence-based education, emotional, practical, and physical support and guidance during pregnancy, labor/delivery, and postpartum period to birthing individuals and families. Doulas may provide services within the home, office, hospital, or freestanding birthing center settings. Doula services improve outcomes for birthing individuals and infants and promote health equity.
