Attempt Survivor Groups
There exists a gap of services for people recovering from a suicide attempt. While it is commonly agreed that therapy and support services are vital after a suicide attempt, there are very few effective programs devoted specifically to this population (Manual for Support Groups for Suicide Attempt Survivors, p.10)”
Training objectives for this section are to:
- Provide an overview of the Didi Hirsch model, support group for attempt survivors
- Review factors to consider in developing and formatting a support group for attempt survivors
- Training on facilitator techniques and qualifications
- Discussion of provider resources
